There’s always a lot of negative if not downright scary news to ponder. But occasionally you’ll find a nugget of positivity in there, if you look hard enough.
Here’s one such nugget: Heading into the early part of 2022, 74% of people claim they feel like they have control over their professional lives.
Part of this, of course, is because the war for talent puts job seekers at an advantage. We’ve seen that play out dramatically this part year or so.
But even as things normalize again, as HR Dive puts it:
“Employees are no longer going to settle for a ‘just OK’ workplace experience or a job that’s ‘good enough.’ There’s too much at stake now and we’ve come to realize that our happiness is not worth risking.”
This isn’t just good news for job seekers. It’s also good news for those leading teams they hope to inspire and motivate. People happy in their jobs are much more likely to succeed in them and do great things, after all.
For the HR leaders I work with, an inspired workforce that knows what it wants is a good thing.
