The Most Important Part of a Resume

“Tim, What’s the most important part of any resume?”

The whole thing matters, but I would argue that the biggest focus should be on proving your worth as a performer. The companies and titles are great, but what exactly did you accomplish in those roles?

Your Made/Saved/Achieveds should be front and center in bullet format. Easy to find. What did you do to Make the company money, Save the company money or what did you do that Achieved superior results? There are many proof points you can provide, such as contributions you made to specific projects, ways you impacted the company’s business, hiring stats, accomplishments, and awards.

Have you ever been asked to take on more responsibility? Acknowledged for a way you contributed? These are good signs to a future employer.

Recruiters like myself expect you to come to the job search with a resume or CV that you’ve put thought into. We can take that and run with it to help connect you to potentially fulfilling jobs.
