Are you taking any significant time off this spring?

Maybe you left the idea of “spring break” behind when you left college. But don’t forget that vacation is good for you.

One study by the American Psychological Association (APA) determined that 68% of workers felt more positive about their jobs after returning from a vacation.

Yet, workers are still not uniformly using all their vacation time, even as depression and stress in the workforce seem to rise continuously.

According to the APA, in 2023 71% of millenials report being stressed out at work. Additionally, 56% of US workers in a corporate or government position feel at least somewhat burned out – a symptom of chronic stress.

As a recruiter, I talk with both hiring managers and job seekers every day. And while their focus is always on the “work” part of work, it’s so important to know when to take a break. Can’t say as I’ve ever talked with someone who took time to get away, unplug and blow off some steam.

Happy #springbreak to those taking it this month.
