You don’t need to reinvent the wheel to make progress. But what about the freight train?
Founded by 3 former SpaceX engineers, start-up company Parallel Systems’ goal is to do just that. By modernizing freight trains, they hope to transport more goods by rail (and less by highway trucks) to combat pollution levels.
To do that, they’re essentially reinventing freight trains as autonomous, zero-emissions rail cars that drive independently on existing train tracks. And with micro-terminals built closer to customers, the overall pollution rate will be far less—Parallel believes they can eliminate 2.8 million metric tons of C02 pollution a year.
Isn’t it amazing when we can make something extraordinary and modern from something seemingly old and outdated?
As a recruiter, I can tell you where I see it most often—resumes. When was the last time you dusted yours off and gave it an update?
Would love to help you give it that modern touch! Give me a shout!
