Want to know how your employees are feeling? Just look at them.
Oh wait, you can’t look at them because you’re all working remotely?
This has been the conundrum of a lot of leaders in the last year or two. And they — and perhaps you — have come up with plenty of new techniques for gauging both worker wellbeing and productivity. Things like:
✔️ Creating new communication practices and rituals on Zoom, Slack, and other virtual forums
✔️ Learning to quantify work in terms of output rather than hours logged
✔️ Most importantly, encouraging and supporting wellbeing practices — even if that means letting up the pressure about productivity at times
It’s all about normalizing — whatever “normal” means for your organization today. All of the companies I recruit for are going through it.
