Pickleball in the office?

That’s what software company Conductor figures it will take to lure employees into its brand-new office space in New York.

Signing a lease on office space can be scary these days for executives who can’t absolutely predict whether employees will agree to come back into the physical office. Force them, and they might look elsewhere. But create an irresistible environment, the theory posits, and they will want to come in — at least part of the time.

According to a recent survey by Envoy, 90% of companies will expect employees to return to the office in 2023. Further, 88% of companies are using incentives to get workers back on site and 61% are making changes to the physical workplace.

Finding employees who relish the in-person culture but can also work independently is the goal for hybrid-forward companies. They seek candidates who are technologically astute, socially non-awkward and, most of all, flexible.

If your company is looking for candidates that hit the sweet spot in terms of you company’s specific work arraignments‚ without necessarily expecting an indoor pickleball court in the office, give me a call today.

As a recruiter for nearly 30 years, I have the experience to identify the right cultural fit in bright candidates.
