Better Connections With Employees

Ask a boss if they feel connected to their employees, and chances are, they’ll say, “Why, yes!”

But ask the employee the same question, and the odds go down.

Learning platform NovoEd recently polled 500 people and found that the majority of senior managers feel good about their relationships with those who report to them, but the employees themselves are not as confident. Fewer than half are feeling the love in return.

There’s a lesson in here for managers and those in leadership positions. As a recruiter for 25+ years, I know that the employer-employee connection is a critical one. Employees who don’t feel connected are the ones who come to me looking for a new role.
