Ready for another workplace trend term? You’ve come to the right place.
Official word on the street is that the Great Resignation is being replaced with the Big Stay.
Chief economist at ADP Nela Richardson recently wrote that US job openings are down 20% from a year ago — their highest peak ever. But companies are still hiring like crazy, and hiring has increased a bit over the last few months.
The Atlanta Fed’s Wage Growth Tracker shows that it’s still a good time to switch jobs if boosting your pay is a big priority for you right now. According to numbers from Insider, job switchers see a median raise of 7.6% (those who stay in a role typically see 5.6%)
As a recruiter, I take these numbers with a grain of salt because, of course, each individual person’s career trajectory is unique. Just because a certain percentage of the US working population has a particular experience doesn’t mean that experience has to be yours.
When it’s time to find a new job, it’s time. And when the right opportunity presents itself, it really doesn’t matter what the headlines say. If it’s your time – drop me a note and let’s talk.
