The debate rages on between remote and in-office work, with very strong opinions on both sides — at least according to the headlines.
Fiverr Business says, “A Third of U.S. Bosses/Executives Want Employees Back to Keep Track of Them.” But nearly half of employees said they’d consider quitting if forced to come back to the office five days a week.
In my own role as a recruiter, talking to job seekers and hiring managers every day, I see less of this sort of strife. People seem to be working together pretty well to find the right solutions for particular companies. There are certain (small) percentages on both sides of the desk that have drawn hard lines, but on balance the situations seem to be working themselves out.
One of the keys to harmony is for people currently seeking roles to find companies that align with their needs, and vice versa. If you’re currently hiring, you’re probably having conversations you’ve never had before about whether new hires will work remotely, in the office, or in a hybrid way.
Statistics be damned, it’s all about productivity, communication and flexibility, in my view.
