Another day, another remote work poll.
McKinsey’s latest data shows that 58% of Americans demand the choice of working from home at least once a week, and 35% want the option EVERY day.
Yet, those with the option to work at home or in the office typically work remotely only 3.3 days a week. They still find value in coming into the office, whether it’s to attend meetings in person, make personal connections with coworkers or collaborate more effectively on projects.
My anecdotal experience working in my role as a recruiter is similar. While a lot of people like the idea of working remotely, they also see the value in coming in to the office.
Another interesting statistic I gleaned from McKinsey’s research: flexible work is only the third-most-important factor to job seekers. As they weigh their options, they place a higher value on salary and career trajectory.
