The massive shifts brought about by the pandemic have influenced what’s important in a positive company culture in three main ways:
1 The concept of “employee belonging” is central to a positive work culture, signaling that employees feel a deep sense of belonging both within their teams and within the greater organization
2 At the same time, psychological safety is table stakes, and that plays in closely to diversity and equity initiatives that make everyone feel heard and seen in the company — even on Zoom
3 Empowerment, meaning that leaders empower individuals on their teams to be engaged and valued
While the factors important to company culture have shifted, the idea that company culture is integral to a company’s HR success has not.
