What’s In & What’s Out in the Workplace for 2023

Things seemingly have changed in the workplace since pre-COVID.

The tenor of work for 2023 has been tentatively set, and for those clients & candidates I’m working with, we are off to the races!

So what are we all feeling about it?

I love WorkLife’s short list of what’s “in” and what’s “out” for work in general in 2023. Included on the “out” list are rage quitting, overhiring, worrying about COVID, Great Resignation and missing coworkers.

So what’s in? Top 5:

1️⃣ Staggered return to office

2️⃣ Quiet quitting (still??)

3️⃣ Health equity benefits

4️⃣ Mass layoffs

5️⃣ Worrying about the economy (woo hoo!)

People’s feelings about their work/life balance and expectations of employers seem to have changed for the long term, and the layoff trend that started in late 2022 continues into 2023.

Well, we might not be off to the jolliest start this year, but we still have more than 10 months to look forward to! Buckle in!
